Windsor Section, Annual General Meeting, 2020

IEEE Windsor section held the Annual General Meeting (AGM) at 6.30 PM, Dec 04, 2020. First, Dr. Jedari, IEEE Windsor chair, gave a speech on the Windsor section’s general activities in 2020. Following that, the event continued with an invited talk by Dr. Iftekhar Basith from Sam Houston State University, USA, regarding leadership and its role in finding jobs. Afterward, Dr. Maike Luiken, the past Canadian IEEE president, provided a talk regarding IEEE, mainly IEEE Canada highlights. Then, Dr. Khalid, the central Canada chair and also the past IEEE Windsor chair, presented outstanding service awards and appreciation letters to the most active members and members, respectively. Finally, the AGM was finished by offering six gift cards to the audience.

I will also provide suggestions for how interested students could best learn more about RL, in addition to taking formal academic classes on the subject.

COMSOL Multiphysics Workshop 2 – Organized by IEEE Women in Engineering

Driving Diversity, A Women in Stem Networking Event

Description: Students, Professionals, and Founders from all STEM fields are attended to the Driving Diversity: Women in STEM Networking Event. This was a unique opportunity to gain valuable connections and insight into experiences, resources, and pathways to STEM careers. The event was co-hosted by the University of Windsor’s EPICentre, Developer Student Club University of Windsor powered Google Developers and the WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation. IEEE WIE Windsor section organized a table and presented the group activities to other women in stem groups.

“Soldering Workshop” – Organized by IEEE Women in Engineering

Description: Calvin Love who is an expert technician in soldering provided an overview of basic manual soldering equipment and proper safety precautions for soldering. Different soldering alloys, including lead-free solders and also the proper soldering techniques for joining PCB components were discussed in this event.
