IEEE Windsor Section presents

“Solar Energy Potential for Canada: Diesel Reduction in the Arctic ”

Abstract: Solar energy will play a central role in solving the Carbon-reduction challenges facing Canada. Solar thermal energy for heat generation and solar PV for clean electricity offer the perfect path to a clean, green, and fossil fuel free future. The technologies will be presented, and actual operational data from existing solar systems will be shared. A special topic will be actual examples of solar PV systems for Diesel reduction in some of the most
remote Canadian arctic communities.

Speaker: Klaus Dohring, President Green Sun Rising Inc., MASc., and Dipl-Ing TU

Speaker Bio:Klaus Dohring has two Master-level Mechanical Engineering degrees, from the University of Braunschweig, Germany and from the University of British Columbia, Canada.
